1. The service

Vokabel is a free educational tool for learning German A1 vocabulary. There is nothing to buy, no account to create, and no subscription. You may use it for personal learning and in classrooms.

2. No warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. While the vocabulary, translations, and example sentences are written with care, we do not guarantee they are free of errors, and the site is not a substitute for a teacher or an official examination syllabus. Use at your own discretion.

3. Your data, your device

Learning progress is stored only in your browser. We cannot recover it if your browser data is cleared — use the Export feature in Settings to make your own backups.

4. Licenses

• Vocabulary dataset (word list, translations, example sentences): licensed under CC BY 4.0. You may share and adapt it with attribution to "Vokabel — Open A1 German Vocabulary".
• Fonts: Playfair Display and Source Sans 3, both under the SIL Open Font License, self-hosted.
• Site design and code: © the site operator. Don't republish the site itself as your own.

5. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the service or use it for anything unlawful. That's it.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from the use of this free service, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated as the site evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision.
